
Eleni oversees the organization’s communications research operations and initiatives. In her role, she provides strategic consultation on communications and research projects for numerous social justice leaders and groups across the country; creates and supports coalitions of nonprofits to increase the effectiveness of their communications campaigns and build public support for social justice; and designs and authors research studies to translate their findings to communications strategy. Eleni works on media outreach on a project-basis and does extensive public-speaking experience.
During her career, Eleni has successfully helped design and implement a variety of communications, advocacy, and electoral campaigns for non-profit organizations, the arts, candidates for public office, and consumer goods. Further, she has worked in public relations and journalism globally, including in London & Edinburg, UK, Athens, Greece, and Alexandria, Egypt.
Eleni is an American Express Fellow in the Emerging Nonprofit Women Leaders Program by the National Council for Research on Women (2010-2011), Membership Chair of the New York chapter of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, and on tBoard of Directors of the New York University Alumni Association.
Eleni is also the editor of Public Opinion Monthly, an online information hub located on The Opportunity Agenda’s website. POM aggregates and analyzes a wide variety of public opinion and social issue research conducted by the Opportunity Agenda and many of the leading political and social issues organizations that conduct polls, surveys and their own research projects. Primarily focused on U.S. social issues, the hub is a resource for activists, the press and the public.
Eleni holds a M.A. in Political Campaign Management from New York University, and a B.A. in Communications and Mass Media from the National University of Athens. She has extensive post-graduate training on market research methodology.
