Culture and Narrative Fellowship launched to support 5 artists or cultural strategists in reimagining economic opportunity in 2022

New York, NY – Today, The Opportunity Agenda launched an open call for a new Culture and Narrative Fellowship to begin in 2022. The six-month fellowship will support five artists or cultural strategists working to reimagine economic status quo conversations while also helping to advance a visionary economic justice narrative.

The deadline for applicants to submit proposals is November 10.

Each fellow will receive $15,000, expert support from The Opportunity Agenda team, and the ability to connect with a vibrant community of culture workers, artists, strategists, and advocates.

The 2022 Culture and Narrative Fellowship builds on The Opportunity Agenda’s organizational commitments to culture and narrative leadership development in economic justice through the theme “We Can Thrive Together.” Previously, the organization partnered with Amplifier on the We Can Thrive Together: Visioning Economic Justice for All – Art & Discussion Guide, a youth initiative that resulted in a discussion guide, 10 pieces of original art and four lesson plans, all focused on envisioning a new story about economic justice and opportunity. In this next phase, the Fellowship will support creatives who are working to advance economic justice narratives with specific audiences across a range of issues through film, podcasting, visual arts, creative digital campaigns, installations and much more.
