On Oct. 11, we continued our Road Ahead for Social Justice series with a conversation about how we can effectively use social media to promote social good.

The social justice movement is at a pivotal juncture and social media has the power, permeability, and potential to shape it. In the era of emboldened online trolls and a well-funded, digitally savvy opposition, we explored how to use social media to further social justice and the roles that social media platforms carry in promoting justice and equality. Panelists Matt Nelson (Presente.org), Victoria McCullough (Tumblr), Davida Arnold (Color of Change), and Jamila Brown (The Opportunity Agenda) discussed how we can uplift values, shift harmful narratives, and use social media to proactively promote progressive policies.
