At the first-ever Creative Change retreat, hosted from August 28 – September 1, 2009 in Telluride, Colorado, the seeds for future retreats and network connections were planted.

The retreat brought together artists, media makers, funders, and advocates committed to the intersection of arts and social justice to reflect and breathe life into the principles and ideas that matter most to us. Made possible by the generous support of the Lambent Foundation, Open Society Institute, and anonymous donors, and hosted by Geraldine and Kit Laybourne, the event launched the Creative Change network.
