In order to realize the goals of our movements, we must focus on the long game. In this episode of the #ShiftingTheNarrative livestream series, we focused on the research recommendations to “build a long-term strategy rooted in values” and “tell an affirmative story.” To help paint a picture of what these recommendations looks like in real life, we talked with advocates working to abolish prisons and immigrant detention. Our panelists were:

  • Tania Mattos, Policy and Northeast Monitoring Manager, Freedom for Immigrants
  • Robert Saleem Holbrook, Executive Director, Abolitionist Law Center
  • Adam Luna, Vice President for Program Strategy and Impact, The Opportunity Agenda

The conversation was moderated by Christiaan Perez, Manager of Media Strategy at The Opportunity Agenda.

This is part two of four episodes in our companion livestream series to the Shifting The Narrative report. Tune in for upcoming episodes and go back to listen to our past discussions to learn more about what is required to shift the narrative.
