Soha Ellaithy started her career in the humanitarian sector 23 years ago when, after studying engineering, she realized that her passion lied in striving to achieve social justice. She sought a career where she can use her problem-solving skills to help vulnerable communities and advocate for equal rights for all. Her initial assignment was assisting Somali asylum seekers in Cairo, Egypt, and many years later, she ended up as a strategic development leader in Connecticut, USA.
Throughout this journey, Soha took on diverse roles, from assistance delivery to communications and fundraising, and was lucky to always work for organizations whose missions she was passionate about.
She believes that the key lessons her journey has brought is that it is almost impossible to achieve results on your own. It requires strong teamwork that is built on respect, collaboration, and an openness to embrace change.
Born in Cairo, Egypt, Soha has lived, worked and traveled to more than 25 countries. She is passionate about traveling and learning new things along the way. Her happiest times are those spent with her family and close friends, who are scattered along seven cities, five countries and three continents.
