Sarah Harris is the Deputy Communications Director and Press Secretary at Stand Up America, helping to highlight Stand Up America’s campaigns for the press and the public. Through her work, she emphasizes the importance and urgency of making sure everyone has access to a democracy that functions for everyone in the country. Prior to Stand Up America, Sarah spent nearly three years at Everytown for Gun Safety working to support the communications work of gun violence survivors and grassroots volunteers. In the role, she was able to get her first taste of political advocacy and communications work. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri (and she won’t let you forget it), Sarah holds Bachelor’s degrees from Villanova University in History and Communications. She can be found at any free museum in Washington D.C., arguing about Kansas City sports teams, and scoping out new independent bookstores to buy books she doesn’t need.
