Mary SmallMary Small is the Policy Director at Detention Watch Network (DWN) where she is responsible for leading DWN’s research, policy analysis, litigation, and congressional advocacy in strategic ways to dismantle the United States’ detention industry. Prior to joining DWN, she was a Protection Advisor at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Assistant Director for Policy at Jesuit Refugee Service/USA. She received a master’s in Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
