Kristen Marston
Kristen Marston has dedicated her career to creating positive and long-lasting change within the entertainment industry, first by working to encourage equal employment opportunities for diverse directors at the Directors Guild of America and, most recently, by consulting with executives, writers, producers, and influencers to shift cultural narratives surrounding immigrants and immigration in film and on television. Currently, Kristen serves as Culture and Entertainment Advocacy Director at Color of Change, where she works with Hollywood insiders who want to change standards and practices from within. Her impactful work has included: supporting Black Panther actor Bambadjan Bamba in coming out as an undocumented immigrant in the LA Times and asking Hollywood to stand with Immigrants; co-producing the Define American Film Festival; and consulting on over 30 television shows and documentaries, including NBC’s “Superstore” and ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” which resulted in the recent episode titled, “Beautiful Dreamer.”
