#ShiftingTheNarrative: Being Nimble and Dismantling Counter-Narratives
We know that problematic narratives are prevalent in our society. Rather than avoid these narratives, we must analyze and dismantle the assumptions that lead to them. In this episode of #ShiftingTheNarrative, we focused on being nimble and dismantling counter-narratives as they relate to the War on Poverty, Racial Profiling and related issues. We spoke with advocates committed to broadening Paid Family and Medical Leave for all and ending drug-war era policies. Our speakers were:
- Elizabeth Johnsen, Communications and Editorial Director, The Opportunity Agenda
- Aisha Wells, Paid Leave Organizer, Mothering Justice
- Maritza Perez, Director of the Office of National Affairs, Drug Policy Alliance
The conversation was moderated by Christiaan Perez, Manager of Media Strategy at The Opportunity Agenda.
This is part three of four episodes in our companion livestream series to the Shifting The Narrative report. Tune in for upcoming episodes and listen to our past discussions to learn more about what is required to shift the narrative.
